Why the Kettle

Your local, just a little bit better fed

We opened The Copper Kettle on a quiet Clifton corner because we wanted the kind of place we'd go to ourselves: unfussy, generous, and the same friendly faces every week.

Our menu is written around what's in season and who's growing it — Somerset dairies, Cornish day boats, Gloucestershire pork. Everything from the stock to the ice cream is made in our little kitchen.

Kind words

What our regulars say

"Best Yorkshire puddings in Bristol, and I'll argue that with anyone. Sunday lunch here is a family ritual now."

— Helen, Clifton

"Small, warm and genuinely welcoming. The hake was spot on and they remembered my partner's allergy without being asked twice."

— Marcus, Redland

"A proper pint, a proper pie and the dog gets a biscuit. What more could you want on a Wednesday?"

— Tom, Hotwells
